Couches is known for its castle, St Leger for its canal side location, both have shops and restaurants. Beaune is just a 25 minute drive, and the TGV station of le creusot gets you to Paris in just 1h 10 minutes.
The english owners used to run a successful B&B here, but turn over is nil now because of family circumstances. Now it awaits either a family to take over. or another entrepreneur to give it a new lease of life.
The house is split in three parts:
1) The upstairs of the main building is ready to go, with four bedrooms each with their en suite shower and toilet. Once of the rooms has a extra room , useful when families stay. Also on this level the living room, the dining room, and the covered terrace overlooking the wooded garden.
2) Downstairs was used by the owners, and this needs some extra care, there is a large furnished and equipped kitchen, a living / study area, a master bedroom with en suite bathroom, and two further bedrooms, one of which has an ensuite bathroom and toilet.
3) To the back of the building a house to be deleted, with a 5m2 foot print. A great opportunity for an extra house with 3 bedrooms, as potential is 100m2.
The whole main building is on top of large vaulted cellars. The house to be done up and the habitable part are separated by an empty space, used today as garage, boiler room and atelier.
To one end of the plot are longitudinal barns, previous cattle barns, handy as extra working space or storage.
The courtyard in between the house for sale and the three other dwelling is part of the sale, but is in effect a communal plot, as the neighbours have a right of way over it.
The plot of land is mostly wooded to the south side, once cleared lovely views of the dheune valley can be achieved.
A great opportunity for those daring to get it to its maximum potential
The furthermost department of Burgundy, with Chalon sur Saone as its main city, and Macon as its capital. Loved because of its Rivers and canals and the many cycle routes along them. A wide variety of landscpapes: The fertile Bresse plain to the east, the wine hills in the middle, and rolling country side with charollais cows to the west.
