Enter from the front courtyard into the cosy living room with light from windows to the front and back. There is plenty of character with beamed ceilings and a stone fireplace with wood-burning stove. The adjoining kitchen & dining room has fitted cupboards and appliances on one side and room for a large dining table the other, with French windows leading from here into the back garden. Past the kitchen is a doorway to the double height barn of about 30 m2, which can also be accessed from the garden. Also on this level is a bedroom and a separate modern shower room with WC and room for the washing machine.

A central staircase leads up to 2 good-sized bedrooms under the eaves. Beams have also been left exposed here for character and space. Next to one of the bedrooms is a small attic containing the water heater and which could be used to make a second bathroom if required.

Heating is by wood-burner and modern low energy electric radiators.

A pretty south-facing garden is laid mostly to lawn with a small stone-walled vegetable patch and some mature trees and plants. Next to the kitchen is a south facing terrace covered with climbing plants, making it a lovely place to relax in the shade and admire the views over the rolling Mâconnais hills in the distance. In the centre of the garden is the original stone bread oven, now used as a barbecue area.

A recently installed traditional bakery and small grocery shop is about 1.5 kms away in the neighbouring village. Other local shops and services can be found in the pleasant town of Joncy at 8 kms, with a larger supermarket and bi-lingual medical centre in St Bonnet de Joux at 11 kms.

Centrally located for many popular touristic towns such as Cluny, Buxy, Charolles all around 25 kms away.

A cosy and easy to maintain holiday home, ready furnished and ideally situated to discover all that the south Burgundy countryside has to offer.

Local regional info

The furthermost department of Burgundy, with Chalon sur Saone as its main city, and Macon as its capital. Loved because of its Rivers and canals and the many cycle routes along them. A wide variety of landscpapes: The fertile Bresse plain to the east, the wine hills in the middle, and rolling country side with charollais cows to the west.
