AUTUMN NEWSLETTER

In this edition, we continue our look at what it is like to buy and live in Burgundy, and we make some suggestions for places to visit and soak up the culture and heritage of this beautiful and historic region of France. In Burgundy, we believe that wine makes a symphony of a good meal and so there are recommendations too for eating out, and sampling wines from the local area.

AUTUMN 2020, working for you
As a consequence of the increase of covid-19 infections France has gone into a lock down, at least until December first. As with the sping lockdown, travel within france and within the european union is only a need to basis, and upon presentation of a special "attestation".

The government is trying to safeguard the ecoomy as much as possible making work possible, and keeping schools open. But non essential shops, restaurants and bars are to close.

France4u shops are closed, but we continue working for you. We make use of all the possible technical solutions to make sure that sales come to a good end, and inform interested people on the property we have for sale.

And yet, interest in buying a French home either as a holiday retreat or as a permanent residence remains strong. For those looking to re-prioritise their lives, working from home (WFH) in a characterful French property is easy and with good 4G and broadband coverage, which is ahead of the EU average for standard fixed broadband, particularly in rural areas, your location actually becomes irrelevant. And with the promise of fibre-optic broadband just three years away, now is exactly the time to start living the dream.

But there is an even more important reason – the financial markets have, in the main, taken a big hit. Your money is not accruing interest the way it used to. Investing in bricks and mortar is often a better bet and can even deliver strong rental revenue if you decide to make your equity work harder.

It also helps that prices remain relatively low by comparison with neighbouring European countries.

At France4U we have seen an upsurge in both enquiries and visits, and house sales have increased significantly during the pandemic. Why? Simply put “life is too short”.

BE SAFE & WELL.
