The furthermost department of Burgundy, with Chalon sur Saone as its main city, and Macon as its capital. Loved because of its Rivers and canals and the many cycle routes along them. A wide variety of landscpapes: The fertile Bresse plain to the east, the wine hills in the middle, and rolling country side with charollais cows to the west.
A sunny terrace shaded with vines welcome you to this stone house. The central kitchen is well located to prepare meals for indoor or outdoor dining. To one side a shower room with WC, then the living and dining room, with character in its stone fireplace and exposed beams and light from triple aspect windows. Up a spiral staircase is a large bedroom with washbasin.
To the other side of the kitchen is the workshop, which doubles as an occasional guest bedroom. Steps lead to a mezzanine area with plenty of room for storage or an office. From here there is access to the main bedroom with shower and WC and a covered balcony which catches the morning sun.
The main feature of this property is its long glass veranda with many uses; for entertaining, exhibiting artwork or just relaxing amongst the varied planted levels of the garden and dominating views. This room is unheated, designed to live with each season, whereas the main stone house has gas central heating.
The garden itself is a work of art with its flower beds bursting into colour throughout the year against a backdrop of wooded hillsides and hidden valleys.
Donzy le National at 3 kms has a lively bar & restaurant with regular events. Cluny is only a few minutes’ drive for all other needs.
Note that most of the furniture is available by negotiation if required, making the property ready to enjoy right away.
An inspiring home for living and leisure, between the Burgundy and Beaujolais vineyards
The area between Chalon sur Saone and Cluny, to the west of the A6 mototrway, with beautiful rolling hills and vineyards in their valleys.
