Ref #: RP5208M
Estate agency fees are paid by the vendorFrom the house you walk towards the Mont Beuvray, first past meadows enclosed by hedges, nesting and foraging place of many birds, then through extensive forests to the top, with the remains of the historic Celtic city of Bibracte, known among other things because Julius Caesar stayed there in 52 BC; there is now a museum and many excavations are underway.
The village of Saint Leger sous Beuvray has a number of important primary facilities, such as a gas station, a bakery and a supermarket, but you will also find a hairdresser, a pharmacy and two restaurants. In the summer there are various markets and in the autumn the famous big chestnut fair.
The Morvan Natural Park covers 285,000 hectares and is known for its endless hiking trails. Close by is the Gallo-Roman city of Autun, with old Roman city gates, amphitheaters, temples and a museum. The cathedral is also famous. The town has many restaurants and the covered part of the Friday market is particularly culinary.
