This is a newsletter in uncertain times, we just came out of the covid pandemic, and we are weathering a war in our region started by a mad man.
We indicate here our support for the Ukrainian people, we applaud their courage and valor. We weep together for their death and destruction of their beautiful country.

Welcome to the spring 2022 Newsletter FOR YOU
If there is one thing that the pandemic has taught us, it is that uncertainty is now part of our everyday lives; our dreams easily can be interrupted by things that start far away and quickly spread around the globe. And as if to underline this, a war in Eastern Europe flares with the tragedy playing out on our television screens every day.

We would like to start by saying that our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Ukraine; we applaud their courage and bravery, and like so many around the world, we weep for the death of this great country’s citizens, and the destruction of their beautiful towns and cities.

It is heartening that in these times of great uncertainty, people remain generous with their donations of money, food and supplies, and opening their homes to the refugees of our European friend.

As the thunder of war just over the horizon continues, at home, the focus of many is rapidly rising inflation with prices going ‘through the roof ‘and the uncertainty that this brings to every household. Political leadership uncertainty has further dampened the mood of not only France but other countries throughout Europe.
But spring has now sprung, the sun is shining on the landscape of Burgundy and temperatures begin to rise, all for the right reasons. So, it’s time to bring some excitement back into our lives.

Interestingly, over the last two years, it has been our experience that people have become increasingly focused on living out their dreams now rather than planning for the future, and that is understandable. House sales in
Burgundy have been strong and this has been reflected in a rise in prices (10% to 15%) and a dwindling of housing stock, as demand has outstripped supply. Buyers from the UK, Holland, Belgium, and France have seen the benefits that rural living and working from home can bring to their personal and family well-being.

In this edition of the FOR YOU newsletter, we meet a Dutch couple who have done just that. They had a dream and they turned it into reality, now running a successful hotel and restaurant in a beautiful part of the region,
New stock is returning to the sales market, with prices stabilising but this may be only temporary, as interest prices are likely to increase once all this uncertainty is over. Have a look at the range of properties now available, including a recent addition that we think is something rather special.

So, despite all the sad news around the world, there really could not be a better time to fulfil your dreams of owning a place in the sun as either a holiday home or as a permanent family residence. To reinforce this, if you are planning on being in the region in early July, we would like to invite you to our annual client get together, which this year is at the stunning Château de Saint Aubin on the 9th of July. Our last event was an enormous success, and with limited places available for this year’s event that includes a delve into the wine cellar, you will need to contact us soon to confirm your attendance. You will find more detail about this in this edition of the newsletter.

Be safe, be well and be happy – we look forward to seeing you sometime soon and helping to fulfil those dreams of yours!
